Don’t Be so Damn Greedy Part 3

March 8th, 2007 by Jeff Neil

Don’t be so damn greedy. If you haven’t yet, read  Part 1

Then read  Part 2

So as I was saying, the only person I need to compete with is me. I’ve said this before. The only person you need to compete with is you.

I NEED to compete with myself. If I am not willing to do better today than I did yesterday I am stagnant. I am not growing, so I must be DYING.

So I have to do My best, not someone else’s best, to compete with myself. Every day.And every day it is a challenge. I have to challenge myself  to be a better person. To provide better service. To take more action.

If you want to change your INCOME, you have to change your life. You know this. You can not change your income and be the same person at the same time. It’s not possible.

And you can’t half step in mlm. Not even a little bit. Because if you do the people playing full court press are going to STEAL your lunch money.

So it all boils down to not being greedy. To being the best you can be. The greatest you can be. Providing the best service to others you possibly can. And you CAN DO this.

Now when I say don’t be greedy I don’t mean you should give everything away for free. That would be NUTS. But what I am saying is give extreme value, somehow, that only you can.

Here’s a personal example. At the top of this you seen an offer for 100 free mlm leads. It’s a two tier residual affiliate program and it is obvious I want to build a downline and another income stream with it. For money. Make no mistake about it.

But the difference is what I PERSONALLY offer for bonuses. I will personally BUY Joe Schroeder’s $97 Warriors Nest for anyone that joins this. I will buy it and pay Joe to ship it.

I could just sell it.

I also GIVE access to my $197 Online Information Marketing package. I could just sell that too. But to ME, that’s being on the greedy side. And a business based on pure greed is not the way I choose to do things. I want to offer the best value I CAN, and sleep good at night.

That makes me a better person. That makes me DIFFERENT than anyone else because no one can give the same value. No one.

The thing is, you can offer even better. Sure, you could also offer to buy Joe’s Warrior’s Nest. Anyone can do that. But on top of that you are unique. You have SOMETHING of value to offer that only you can. Everyone does.

So don’t just focus on the money. Yes, make money. But do so by SERVING.

Don’t Be So Damn Greedy Part 2

March 4th, 2007 by Jeff Neil

If you haven’t read Part 1 do so here

Continuing……

Like I was saying, feel it in your heart. If you are prospecting, trying to get people to join your downline you really need to BELIEVE they can make money at it. You need to believe they are capable. Believe in them AND what you do.

Cuz sometimes you come across people you know darn well do not have a prayer. This industry is not for them. Don’t trick them. Don’t convince them they can make money from home with NO WORK.

Keep it real.

And same thing when you retail products. You need to BELIEVE it does what YOU say it does. If not, retail something else. Your disbelief will show through. You can not hide it.

That’s one of the things I like about my little candle business . It’s just a candle. And I swear on my Grandmother’s grave it WILL DO exactly what a candle is supposed to  do. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Well that’s great, and all that. But what else? How about competition? I don’t compete with you. It doesn’t make sense to. First of all, I really REALLY want the very best for you. I hope you have a HUGE downline. A huge FOLLOWING. Bigger than what I can ever do myself.

I want to be of SERVICE. To you and our mlm industry. It’s wise to. Re-read The Science of Getting Rich. And if was WORRIED that you might be doing better than I am, I would not be focusing on my own business. And I would not be improving ANYTHING. I would actually be going down hill.

Am I making sense?

I don’t compete with my upline. How could I? I have different sponsors for different programs and they KNOW MORE than I do. They have more experience. So instead of being jealous. Instead of saying they do so good because blah, blah, blah, blah, blah….

What I need to do is shut up and LISTEN. To get inside their heads. Inside their hearts. So I can learn what they know. So I CAN compete with the ONE PERSON I need to compete with. Me.

This is the end of Part 2. Part 3 coming SOON to a theater near you……

Why You Could Be Struggling in Network Marketing

March 1st, 2007 by Jeff Neil

I was watching a religious show last Sunday, which is not something I normally do. But it caught my attention while I was channel surfing, and to tell you the truth I am glad it did.

I’m not an overly religious man. My wife on the other hand spends several hours every week doing things with and/or for the church she belongs to. I rarely go. But I should go more because every time I do go the subject seems to relate to being successful.

This “sermon” I was watching was about why people suffer. Why they struggle. And this is not about religion by the way. It’s ’bout life. And for us network marketers, mlm is part of our lives that often brings one hell of a struggle.

So this man on TV says that the struggling and suffering is not punshment. It’s more to teach us something. For example perseverance. Or to build character.

Nobody WANTS to struggle. OK, almost nobody. I know I don’t want to. And I don’t like seeing you struggle either. But if we can step back from it and just look at it, there really is some good that comes from our struggle. We just have to be aware enough to see the good.

When I look at my own life, my own struggles, I can see a valuable lesson there. For me, I have learned humility and empathy. If MLM was really as easy as I was first told I never would have developed these traits. Character traits that I get to KEEP for the rest of my life.

So yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. Struggling, believe it or not, IS a good thing.

There is another reason you could be struggling in your netwok marketing business. Why you keep experiencing setbacks. What some people would call FAILURE.

Leadership and Greatness.

Do you read biographies of great pople who have achieved great things. People like Elvis, Ray Kroc, Thomas Edison, Abe Lincoln? Ever notice how much these great leaders with a vision STRUGGLED first?

You have to understand. Nature has a set of rules. Laws. That’s just how it is. Nature, by its very design takes care of itself.

That’s why nature will never allow weak people to make it to the top. If they do, they will not stay there. To be on top you are going to have to struggle first. Nature is going to TEST you. Nature will keep knocking you down to see if you have what it takes to get back up again.

And if you will just get back up again enough times VICTORY will be yours. It really will.

My wish for you is that if you are struggling you will look for the value in it. You will use what you learn for the good of other people. And that you never give up.

We really need you.

Stop Being so Damn Greedy Part 1

February 25th, 2007 by Jeff Neil

Stop being so damn greedy. Uncle Jeff! You just said the “D” word. Yes I did. And I expect before my life is over I will say it again.

Listen. Greed is half the problem in this industry. People telling lies, using fear of loss, intimidation. ANYTHING. Just to get a person to join.

Hey, I’ve been there. I’ve done that. I’m human, and no better than anyone else. And yeah, it might make you some money for a little while. But when you only promise money, you GIVE them the reason to QUIT. Let me repeat that.

When you ONLY promise money you give them the reason to quit.

So they quit. Then they join something else. Then they quit. Join-Quit. Join-Quit. Repeating the cycle over and over.

Now they don’t trust anyone. Now they won’t believe a word anyone says. Now they won’t join. Now they won’t ACT. It’s a downward spiral.

Personally, I have been selling information for quite awhile.  And I’ll tell you something…. Network marketers are afraid to buy anything. Even when it’s really really good. Because they are afraid of getting ripped off. Because they are afraid of being WRONG.

So what’s the solution? Good question.

In MY opinion, we need to be FOR the prospect. We need to be FOR the customer. Not in our WORDS. In our actions. And more improtantly, in our HEARTS.

Because you can SAY anything you want. But what is in your heart is what you will be really saying. Even if it doesn’t come from your lips.

I’m going to stop here for now, and call it the end of Part 1. Much more to this coming if you care to read more. I really hope you will take the time to THINK about what I’m saying here.

Why MLM is an Inspiration Business

December 13th, 2006 by Jeff Neil

Usually when we think of multilevel marketing what comes to mind is recruiting.  Trying to find people that want to earn money from home, and then convincing them to join our opportunity. Convincing is the key word here. Nobody wants to join a convincing business. But that’s what we do in our industry.

Then we wonder why we have a hard time building a solid organization.

Initially people join an mlm opportunity for the money. I mean, that is why we do this, for the money right?

Maybe.

If you look at the leaders in this industry, and in your own organization. I mean really look. You’ll see that they offer something to their downlines much more than just ” How to Make Money”.  Because the how to’s can be found in your local bookstore, or even the public library.

Sorry to tell you, but just the “how to’s” will never be enough.

One of the things your leaders are doing is they are busy climbing the mountain. They are going on ahead of the pack. They make sure the mountain is safe to climb. While you are climbing that mountain, your leaders are encouraging you. As if to say “Yeah, you can do it, If I made it this far so can you”.

Your leaders are also yelling down to you, they are pointing out where the rocks are. And giving advice on how to go over the rocks, or under them, or around them. A great leader will even try to get you up the mountain even higher than the leader is.

Remember, MLM is certainly not the only way to make money. Just watch late night television.

Pretend you watched some infomercial on tv, and ended up buying an ATM machine, or some Internet Kiosk Thingy. Are those companies going to do do all the stuff your upline does? No. They will not. “cause they don’t give a rat’s bat about you. But your upline does!

It’s this extra attention. The caring leadership. The built in self development that appeals to so many people. And don’t forget, people are becoming more spiritually aware than ever before.

I’m not talking religion here either. People are tired of the corporate, don’t give a damn rat race, tread mill, life they are living. They want purpose, passion. People want to feel good inside. They want to feel important.

Like they belong to something. A movement. And they want to feel like what they are doing with their lives is of value to other people. Because when you uncover all the B.S., people, almost all people, are really, really nice.

So let’s point this back to you. I know you’re a nice person and all. But what can you do to inspire people. because if you can inspire others, you’ll set yourself apart from all the other “please please join me” networkers.

And you do want that, right?

So first of all, forget about the money. The money will come. But stop focusing on it when you are dealing with people. Think about your vision, and all that when you are alone.

Pretend you are doing mlm for free. As a volunteer thing. Or charity. Ask yourself why. With the money issue gone, why would you do mlm? If you can’t find an answer you are in the wrong industry. Go sell vacuum cleaners or something.

Because if you don’t love this. If you don’t feel this business people will not follow you. And you’ll never be able to grow much of a downline.

Find the desire to be better, to do more, to grow as a human being, and to bring up as many people as you can along the way. Think about how you can give increase to everyone you meet. Even if you have no intentions to do business with them.

Think about what your purpose is. It doesn’t have to be to save the world. But something you feel very strongly about. And how being in the network marketing industry is helping you with your purpose.

And of course you need to have confidence. Yes, things can get scary. But just do a tiny little thing you have never done before. Something small that you know will help you or others. And then do just a tiny little bit more.

All those little actions will become big actions. You will build your confidence and be seen as someone who takes big actions.

If you think about it, you already know what to do. Because growing yourself, and others is a very natural thing. Just allow yourself to do it. And fine tune it as you go along.
